Lauren Brandon is a former NCAA All-American swimmer from the University of Nebraska who found her passion for triathlon in 2010. Lauren began her triathlon journey racing Olympic distance, but changed to longer races in 2015. She made the move to full Ironman races in 2016 and ended her season with a 2nd place at Ironman Cozumel. As a junior, he won five British national titles until he decided in 2010 to represent Ireland, the home country of his parents. Kendall Ryan Wins Stage 1 of the Amgen Tour of California
May 17, 2018 (Pescadero, CA) — In a stunning sprint finish, Kendall Ryan (USA) won the first stage of the Amgen Tour of California today, her first UCI World Tour victory.
The 77.1-mile race started and finished in Elk Grove, CA, featuring scenic roads along California’s rural landscape. As anticipated, the race came down to a sprint finish, with Kendall securing the victory in a world-class field.
Cup van Melilla
Marco van der Stel wint ETU Triathlon Cup van Melilla!
Een daverende verrassing afgelopen zondag. In Spanje schreef Squadra-atleet Marco van der Stel de ETU Thriathlon Cup van Melilla op zijn naam. Na een ijzersterke race kwam de atleet uit Capelle aan den IJssel als eerste over de meet.
In de Melilla verzamelde zich afgelopen zondag een sterk deelnemersveld voor de tweede wedstrijd in de ETU Triathlon Cup.
In de Spaanse enclave, gelegen in Marokko aan de Middellandse Zee-kust, waren twee van de deelnemers de Squadra atleten Marco van der Stel en Menno Koolhaas.
Voor Van der Stel werd het een memorabele dag.
“Voor de start verwachtte ik dat ik mee kon doen om een plaats bij de eerste tien,” schetst Van der Stel zijn verwachting vooraf. “Wellicht kon ik met een goede dag mezelf bij de beste vijf lopen.” De tegenstand was niet mals. Het deelnemersveld telde een aantal heel sterke lopers. “Dat zie je tegenwoordig bij bijna alle Eurocups,” wist ook Van der Stel.
